Admission

1. All enquiries for admission are confidential. No person shall be denied the right to apply to the school on the basis of gender, religious belief or national origin. The school reserves the right to obtain information it deems necessary to assist in reaching a decision regarding admission.

2. Confirmation or refusal of placement into the school remains at the discretion of head directress.

3. The school is not specifically equipped to care for children with special needs. Should an application of this nature be received, admission of the pupil will be at the discretion of the school. Please refer to our Special Needs/ Remedial/ Intervention Policy. Places are subject to compatibility and available resources.

4. The onus is on the applicant to notify the school of any changes to information stated on the application form.

5. If the school discovers that an application contains a false statement, the decision to accept a child will be reversed.

6. If the school discovers that the parent has not disclosed physical, mental, psychological or behavioural problems that the child may have which are beyond the scope of the school’s capabilities, then the school may terminate the enrolment of the child. In event of this, the parent will forfeit the enrolment fee and tuition fees paid to the school.

7. The school has the right to review every child’s placement prior to the beginning of each year or if the need arises.

8. Applications are accepted all year around, subject to availability/waitlist. 

 

Admission Process

We accept children between the ages of 16/ 18 months (from walking and being steady on feet) to age of five – turning six. Children that are ages six turning seven are not eligible for a place at Explore + Discover Montessori Preschools as they will need to attend Primary School.

When we are oversubscribed, the following criteria will be followed:

​

• Preference is given to siblings if enrolled in time.

• Preference is given to those children transferring from another Montessori preschool.

• Space is subject to a balanced mix of boys and girls in each age group.
